Facilities in the Department

• The department is well equipped with library for the use of students total books 852 (Kannada and English).
• Books related to competitive exams are also kept in department for reference of students.
• The department has subscribed two Kannada monthly magazines - Sparada Spoorti & Study Planner and one English magazine - Competitive Vision, which will issued to students for reading.
• Late Vasantrao Chitaguppi Scholarship for two students ( one boy & one girl) for securing highest marks in History at BA final year exam.
• The department has CD and Maps which will be used by teachers in their teaching.
• The students will be given opportunities to participate in seminars, conferences to enhance their talent and skills.
• Guest lectures from eminent scholars will be arranged to enrich the students.
• The department brings bi-annual magazine entitled 'Heritage' where students can exhibit their writing skills by contributing articles to magazine.
• New technologies like LCD, PPT and Maps will used to make the teaching more effective.

Future Plans

• To establish a department museum to conserve some artifacts and enrich the knowledge of students.
• Collection of old Numismatics.
• Promote historical exhibitions and organize 'Cultural and Historical Fest'.
• To establish PG and Research centre.

• The department has stated two certificate enrichment courses, supported by Management and self financed since 2000 AD.
  Certificate Course in Tourism for a duration of 6 months.
  Certificate Course in Epigraphy for a duration of 6 months.
  
• The department is also planning to start another Certificate Course in Study of Ancient Scripts with duration of 6 months.
