Facilities in the Department

• Department library.
• Facility to watch live budget session.
• Training of data analysis ( through MS excel ) which are essential to understand the syllabus in a realistic manner.
• Provision to visit some local well known research institutions mainly to give practical knowledge to the students that how research in economics helps the society.

Future Plans

• Building research oriented infrastructure like introducing software packages which are helpful in data interpretation.
• Introducing digital library i.e. the websites of providing good information related to the subject.
• To introduce Economics forum in which the students and experts can can have discussion related to current economic issues as well as original economic theories.
• To introduce mock budget session in the format of union budget presentation of India for Final year students of economics (B.A and B.COM).
• To build a platform for non economics students to understand the basic economics which is essential in everybody's everyday life.
• To conduct departmental State/National level seminars/conferences.
• To give the project work to the students.
• To have joint study with population study centre .
• To have discussion on current economic policies.

• Data analysis training for B.A VI sem students (2016-17).
• Gust Lecture on 'Demographic profile of India' by Shri. Shreeprasad H. Joint Director, Population studies centre, Dharwad. On 15th July 2017 for B.A      VI Sem students.
• A special Programme Disha for B.A and B.COM VI sem students on 18th July 2017.
• Classroom activities have been conducted for B.A I, III and V sem students related production, trade, market, pricing etc.
• A skit has been wonderfully performed by B.A VI sem students on "poverty in India" in the classroom.
• A guest lecture on career guidance was delivered by Shri. Anand Patil of Anand Academy for B.COM and B.A VI sem students on 26th December 2017.
• A guest lecture on stock exchange delivered by Smt. Sunith Verma, Zonal Manager South India, ICICI Security for B. Com. IV and VI Sem. Students on      10th January 2018.
• A special lecture on Population Day on the topic of "Population Growth Issues and Challenges" by Dr. Sreeprasad H , Joint Director, Population      Study Centre, Dharwad on 11th July 2019.
