Dr. Ajith Prasad is the present Chief Finance Officer of Janata Shikshana Samiti Group of Institutions, Dharwad, and also discharging duties as the principal of Shri Manjunatheshwara Institute of UG and PG Studies.

Dr. Ajith Prasad has Masters degree both in History and Economics. He obtained Ph.D in History from Karnatak University then joined the JSS College as a lecturer of History in 1973. thereafter, he never looked back as far as academic, administrative and extra-curricular activities are concerned for the reputation of the institution. Dr. Ajith Prasad was also the co-ordinator of the IGNOU study centre. He is an active member in many forums. JSS scaled a new heights during his tenure as the principal and was instrumental in getting the institution, accredited at the ‘A’ level by NAAC. He has been an impetus behind umpteen number of developmental activities.

Apart from his routine duties,Dr. Ajith Prasad has taken keen interest in modulating the functioning of the schools in the JSS group. He is always at hand to advise, guide and help the teachers in sorting out their problems. Moreover he is known for planning and adopting novel methods in making the educational institution into totally a self sufficient.
